the modern man

we think, we reflect, we collect, and we sort.
we re-
arrange and interject, and expect to be re-
warded.
we are un-predictable, yet so
un-original
that when we try to be spontaneous the results are abysmal.
we grind out the days, fall
back on routine,
just go with the flow, and religiously
clean.
so caught up in our-
selves, we ignore our
guts,
think with our dicks,
and get kicked in the nuts.
one foot out the door,
to let the draft in,
we drink like sailors: straight whiskey,
and gin.
